Ocean Plants

I will show you some the rarest and popular plants in the ocean

1} First I want to show you the acropora coral. This is acropora coral it is probably one of the most popular among sealife. Acropora and monitor corals together comprise nearly 1/3 of reef-building species, which means they're often the first on the scene of a new reef, and they spread to provide homes for other corals.

2} Red algae Red algae are protists in the phylum Rhodophyta, and range from simple one-celled organisms to complex, multi-celled, plant-like organisms. Red algae contain a variety of pigments, including chlorophyll, red phycoerythrin, blue phycocyanin, carotenes, lutein, and zeaxanthin. The most important pigment is phycoerythrin, which provides these algae's red pigmentation by reflecting red light and absorbing blue light.Red algae are found around the world, from polar to tropical waters, and are commonly found in tide pools and in coral reefs.

3} Coralline algaeconsists of very fine filaments that grow over rocks. These plants may seem more like rocks than plants, and they are as hard as cement. Coralline algae helps support the structure of coral reefs.

4} Seagrass cannot survive without sunlight, so it usually grows in the ocean's shallow waters, which is why you will not see sea grass growing in the middle of the ocean floor. This plant roots directly into the ocean floor. Seagrass also commonly grows on coral reefs. Some types of seagrass are star grass, manatee grass, shoal grass and Johnson's seagrass. Seagrass provides both food and shelter for many different marine animals.
